–WORDS OF THE WEEK– The Daishonin stated, “The ray of light from the daimoku reaches all the way to the hell of incessant suffering and makes it possible for [the deceased] to attain Buddhahood then and there.”(*) Chanting daimoku based on the spirit of “practice for oneself and others” serves as the ultimate memorial for the deceased. Summer provides a great opportunity to deepen friendships with our neighbors, such as during community events and other activities. The connections we cultivate with people are the foundation for establishing a sense of security and creating prosperity in our society.
Our treasured Future Division members(*) are making progress with vibrant energy! They are advancing courageously and spiritedly toward their dreams. There is no obstacle that cannot be surmounted by these youthful challengers! (*)Young people from approx. 6 to 18.
Rather than comparing ourselves to others and feeling anxious, let’s create an unwavering and indestructible self! Buddhism teaches the principle of “cherry, plum, peach and damson blossoms,” which elucidates the unique diversity and beauty of all living entities. Each one of us invariably has a unique mission that is ours alone.
The “drama” of our human revolution begins here, from this moment. Let’s transform our karma and all the adversity it entails into our mission to encourage others– stories of our lives that we can share with one another into the eternal future!
Youth who are striving to study the philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism! The advance of kosen-rufu is always accompanied by the gosho. Let’s hone our “sharp sword” of faith, the driving force for victory!
Passing down the legacy of our faith begins in the home. Let’s do gongyo and chant daimoku as a family and share the joy of faith together. Parents, spend each day developing your lives together with your children.
